Ramona A. Daniels (“Mona”) is a native of Philadelphia, PA. She is a professional artist and her work reflects her African, Native American, Asian and French heritage. Her multi-cultured family is a group of very talented and creative people and has inspired her to pursue a career in the arts. Her vivid oil paintings reveal the emotions inherited by her background and in nature – the serenity of a landscape, the tranquility of the ocean, the boldness of a flower. Mona also enjoys conveying her personal expression in abstraction; her style range from impressions to contemporary.
While Mona has been creating art in a variety of forms throughout her life, her journey as an oil painter began in 2009 after attending an oil painting workshop at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, NJ. This pushed her to expand her horizons and tap into new areas of painting that she had not yet explored. In a fairly short period of time, she had accomplished unheard of achievements for a self-taught & self-representing artist.
“It’s all about having fun in the creative process”. Mona enjoys watching her hands and soul take control over the process in creating a visual image. “It’s nothing like getting your hands covered in oil paint and sharing your work with everyone”.
