Guest Artist

Anne Maddox

Anne Maddox is an award winning Hoosier Woman Artist, presently residing in Marion, Indiana.

An accomplished watercolorist, she is currently working on a set of six Ecosystem paintings, of which the last is almost complete and the first is on display at the Indianapolis State House. As a nature lover she is using the paintings to teach about the interconnectedness of nature and why we need to preserve and protect habitats.

She occasionally takes part in plein air paint-outs, executing landscapes in oil or acrylics as well as studio work and has written and illustrated three books, one on Peace Prayers from the major religions, and two children’s books.

Her current project is to enhance the art scene in the Marion and Gas City area by establishing an arts co-operative.

Leota Williams Loop - A Beautiful Legacy

Kokomo Art Center is honored to present an exhibition of works by past Kokomo artist Leota Williams Loop as part of the Hoosier Salon’s Centennial Celebration.  Leota Loop was one of the original incorporators of the Kokomo Art Association as well as a gifted and generous artist.

During her lifetime, Loop exhibited at the Hoosier Salon thirty times, including at the First Hoosier Salon in 1925. She won numerous awards and accolades and helped put Kokomo on the map in the art world.

Join us in honoring Leota Loop’s artistic legacy in June and July at the Kokomo Art Center with an exhibit of her timelessly beautiful art.
